Overpass wrapped, Grandmama at Festival

My fall documentary Great Grandmama for Obama made its festival debut at the Texas Black Film Festival this spring. I just wrapped shooting on my spring 16mm narrative film, Overpass. It will premiere with other short films in May!

1 down, 5 to go

I've just finished semester 1 of my MFA film program at UT Austin. You can view my fall project, a 10 minute documentary, above. So far I've received good feedback from my professors and others.

The work coming from the advanced students here is stunning! Next up are short 16mm films (spring semester), followed by a prethesis and thesis film (2nd and 3rd year). Lots of fun (and work)!

back to school special

After much deliberation, I'll be attending University of Texas at Austin this fall for an MFA in Film Production! I'm really excited about the program's small size (12 students per year) and Austin location. Somehow it won out over the allure of USC...

Also, our new Detholz! music video, Behold the Man, will premiere this weekend at the Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts. Look for a Chicago premiere later this summer.

I can't wait to begin my studies at UT. I'm looking to continue to pursue an earnest aesthetic, and working with nonactors to unearth simple truths. I hope to come out of the experience with some exciting, mystical, honest films for you to see! Thanks for your support!
