Winter is Outside was selected one of the Chicago Short Film Brigade's top films of the year, and will now play at the Gene Siskel Center downtown with the winners. The audience can also vote for their favorite film! Here are the details:

Micah: Micah Barber is an Austin-based writer/director. Film is how he synthesizes thought and experience to make sense of the world. A cinephile, he admires the work of Andrei Tarkovsky, Robert Bresson, Bela Tarr, and Harmony Korine, among others. His goal in his work is to explore the unique qualities of film, specifically the captured passage of time. Like Bresson, he seeks to “block the emotional and intellectual exits” (the easy outs that dramatic devices offer), employing instead visual and aural elements that navigate a character’s psychology.
