Micah Barber is an Austin-based writer/director. Film is how he synthesizes thought and experience to make sense of the world. A cinephile, he admires the work of Andrei Tarkovsky, Robert Bresson, Bela Tarr, and Harmony Korine, among others.
His goal in his work is to explore the unique qualities of film, specifically the captured passage of time. Like Bresson, he seeks to “block the emotional and intellectual exits” (the easy outs that dramatic devices offer), employing instead visual and aural elements that navigate a character’s psychology.
